In Jon Gordon’s book, The Energy Bus, he writes about the three things that most people would do differently if they could live life all over again. The top three things identified by a group of 95-year-old people were: “1) They would reflect more. Enjoy more moments. More sunrises and sunsets. More moments of joy. 2) They would take more risks and chances. Life is too short not to go for it. 3) They would have left a legacy. Something that would live on after they die.”
Gordon then expands on the idea of leaving a legacy. “And when it comes to legacies remember this: The best legacy you could leave is not some building that is named after you or a piece of jewelry but rather a world that has been impacted and touched by your presence, your joy, and your positive actions.”
Don’t wait until you are 95-years-old to think about what you might do over again. Take some time this week to think about it. And then start living it now so you have no regrets. Also think about what you want your legacy to be. Make it more than fame and fortune; leave a lasting impression on the world. Spreading your positivity and joy are simple things that you can start doing today. Have an impact on others through your presence, your joy, your kindness, and your positive thinking and actions. This is a legacy you can begin building now…..so get started right away!
